Effective date: 15-09-2026  ·  Last updated: 15-09-2026

1. Introduction

Voice of People ("we", "us", "our", or "the App") is a citizen-services platform that lets users raise issues/grievances, book appointments, and browse and apply for government or organizational schemes. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

By creating an account or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

3. How each feature uses your data

3.1 Raise an issue

When you raise an issue, we collect the details you submit (description, category, photos, location) and your account information so the issue can be assigned a ticket ID, routed to the relevant office or representative, and tracked. Status updates may be shared with you by SMS, WhatsApp, push notification, or in-app.

3.2 Book appointments

When you book an appointment, we collect the date, time, purpose, and any notes you provide, along with your name and mobile number, so the relevant office can confirm, reschedule, or manage your appointment. Reminders may be sent by SMS, WhatsApp, or push notification.

3.3 Schemes and scheme applications

Browsing scheme listings does not require any personal information beyond your account and general location. If you choose to apply for a scheme, we collect the specific eligibility and identity details that scheme requires (which may include category, income, or uploaded documents) and share them only with the department or authority responsible for processing that scheme.

4. How we use your information

5. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

6. Mobile number and OTP verification

Your mobile number is required to create an account and acts as your primary identifier and login credential. We use it to send a one-time password (OTP) for verification, to authenticate you when you log in, and to send you service notifications related to your issues, appointments, and scheme applications. We do not use your mobile number for marketing without your consent.

7. Data storage and security

We store your information on secure servers and use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards — including encryption in transit and access controls — to protect it against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Documents you upload for scheme applications (such as ID proofs or income certificates) are treated as sensitive and are accessible only to authorized personnel involved in processing that application.

8. Data retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Issue, appointment, and scheme application records are retained as long as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, meet legal or regulatory requirements, and maintain public records where applicable. You may request deletion of your account as described in Section 9.

9. Your rights and choices

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 13.

10. Children's privacy

The App is intended for users who can independently register with a mobile number and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.

11. Cookies and tracking (web version)

The web version of the App may use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand aggregate usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect some features.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, through an in-app notice. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
